We have recently gained permission to create two wildflower areas at Clifton Community Orchard, relatively small areas that will soften the approach into the orchard. As well as looking pretty, the wildflowers will increase biodiversity at the site, creating a haven for insects and pollinators such as bees, butterflies and hoverflies. Rowse Honey has kindly donated the wildflower seed. Please note this will not impact on the play area/football pitch, these will remain as they currently are.
We will be hosting a Spring event at the Community orchard, Welford Piece, Clifton on Saturday 22 April 2023, from 11am. Please come along and join us to get hands on creating a wildflower area, carry out some maintenance on our fruit trees, kids come and help us create a bug hotel or simply come along and say hello, there will be tea, coffee, juice and cakes available on the day. If anyone has the skills to help us create a bug hotel frame and fancies giving it a go please get in touch! Cake donations are also welcome!
If you have any questions, please email Tammy on tammy.marrett@gmail.com or find out more on the Facebook event page here
