Tomorrow, Tuesday 28th September, a group of Spanish Environmentalists are arriving from Santander by ferry and planning to walk all the way to Glasgow for the Cop26 Summit*, raising awareness for climate change on the way. On the 7th of October they will be walking from Oxford to Adderbury/Banbury, passing through Deddington sometime in the evening. If you could offer to put any of them up for the night, walk part or all of this leg with the group, or help to make them feel welcome at a ‘bring and share’ dinner that evening, please contact Paul & Nicki Burgess (nickicraddock@hotmail.com). *COP26 is the 26th “Conference of Parties”, an annual meeting of 195 nations that make up the United Nation Framework on Climate Change. It’s purpose is to continually assess the progress in dealing with climate change, negotiate agreements and set goals for reducing greenhouse gas emissions that are the primary drivers of climate change. |
